About Us

Dan Hallak is a Northwest native who is driven by his passion for developing the capability of people and watching his clients succeed. His expertise and background is in job searching, career development, recruiting, and organizational effectiveness. Through his career, Dan has observed many bright individuals who have been paralyzed by the enormity of career choices. In an age where children are raised to believe they can achieve anything, many individuals get “stuck” in their options. In response, he launched Next Step Career Consulting to partner with individuals as they take the next step in their careers, whether that next step is discovering the right path or learning how to tactically engage a fierce job market.

Bringing an eclectic background that adapts to nearly every personality or career stage, his unique approach to career coaching blends a practical, nuts and bolts philosophy, with active listening and expert advice and strategies. While highly intuitive and perceptive in coaching, his rigorous background in a research-based masters degree differentiates him through his helpful yet realistic advice.

He is well experienced in coaching and has partnered with countless students and alumni at local universities and in private practice. He has successfully worked with both young and seasoned professionals of varying age brackets in job searching and personal marketing as well as career transitions and career exploration. In addition to Next Step Career Consulting, he provides career transition consulting with Right Management and Bellevue Community College.

Dan’s education includes a Masters Degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from Seattle Pacific University, a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Northwest University, an Associates degree from Bellevue College, and recognition as an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Over the past few years he has conducted several organizational consulting projects in academia, non-profit, law enforcement, and corporate settings. Additionally, he serves on the board of the Puget Sound Career Development Association, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Society of Industrial / Organizational Psychologists.

Personal interests include spending quality time with his wife and close friends and family, engaging conversations, reading, lifelong learning, leading an active lifestyle, and involvement in his church.
