“It is with pleasure that I write a testimonial for Dan Hallak. Dan is an individual who is dedicated to his craft and knows it well. In a downed economy, I decided to take an extended leave of absence from a family business and Dan’s expertise helped me navigate that very uncertain terrain. Having “searched” for a job several years prior, my default strategy in seeking for work this time reverted to what worked last time. After several weeks of less than ideal results, Dan’s counsel on networking gave me the exact ‘kick in the pants’ I needed to try something new. Shortly after taking his suggestions to heart (and doing quite a bit of self reflection and exploration of new strategies), I’ve embarked on a new path that is exactly in line with my long-term career objectives. Without Dan’s assistance, it is of no doubt to me that reaching this new plateau would not have occurred as quickly or as painlessly. If you’re not quite content where you’re at or just looking to expand your horizons, do yourself a huge favor and allow Dan an opportunity to help you set that path.”
Thanks again, Dan!

When the economy started to take its toll on the place I was working at I felt stuck! I am in a great relationship with a great girl and working a job struggling financially was a dead end, I needed some hope that I could have a future with her. She needed it too. When one of my close friends heard about this tension he referred me to Dan Hallak and feeling desperate, I reached out for some help. I have to admit to being skeptical about how a counselor could help me find work, especially since I never got a degree at college, but Dan was confident that I just needed the right tools, and I have to admit his confidence rubbed off on me. Despite going through some major life changes himself (preparing for marriage), he was extremely flexible with his time and supportive throughout the week. His diligence kept me on task and his belief in me was a huge factor in my learning. I learned how to write a sharp looking resume, what I was really looking for in a job, and what values a company needed to have for me to fit. He helped me to find the necessary skills to navigate career networks and I was able to meet with many people in the organization I was interested in working with. I truly believe that should I need to change careers in my future I now have the skills and knowledge necessary to make it happen and come out better.

“Dan Hallak is inspirational, motivational and blessedly practical. He guided me through a resume creation and a follow-up editing session both of which were instructional. I am a typical career changer who is an experienced and competent professional but mired in years of the same work. A year ago I returned to the states after ten years working overseas and needed to find employment in Seattle. To further complicate matters, I was attempting a career transition during a downturn economy. I had not had to rethink my resume in 20 years. I also was unfamiliar with the existing stateside job market and unfamiliar with a completely American environment. Dan provided a very personable interview process and created a resume that is a brilliant marketing tool. I also benefited from a follow-up session with Dan, during which he advised me about tailoring my resume for specific job applications and marketing strategies for myself. I whole-heartedly recommend Dan to anyone looking for career, resume or employment counseling services. He is the best!”

“I wanted to write to thank Dan for all the help and information that he has provided me, particularly with the aid of informational interviewing procedures and most important the do’s and don’ts. Let me fill you in on my journey. I initially started building my network over a year ago interviewing three companies. Each offered me a position after the interview which was flattering and gave me a boost to further expand my networking system. At this time however, I was not in the market for a job, simply networking. Currently in the past three months I have continued and dedicated more time to networking building connections with twenty five individuals and twenty different organizations. It has been challenging and sometimes I find that it is a job in and of itself yet, the more I get involved the more enjoyable the process has become. Initially the interviews were about gaining information targeting individuals and the organizations, this has been refined down to gaining information about the particular jobs that I would like, meeting with individuals in similar positions and gaining inside advice on what works and what does not work. I have met with CEO’s, Vice Presidents, Directors of Human Resource, and top managers to name a few. Some have become good friends while others would like to continue mentoring me. After each interview I always ask if they have three names of individuals who might be willing to consider going through the same process and everyone has been forthcoming and polite and the process continues. The entire experience has been a great resource for job opportunities and also for great friendships including my own personal grown of understanding myself and the profession I wish to pursue. Thank you for all you have done.”

“Dan Hallak is an experienced, knowledgeable career counselor whose energy and appreciation of online opportunities make him a singular asset. In an SPU networking seminar series, Dan displayed the same enthusiasm for his topic and audience which he carries into every conversation. His visual aids reflected his thorough preparation, and he took time to advise students individually following colleagues’ seminars as well as his own. Career counselors are proficient in online opportunities, but Dan exceeds this expectation. He takes a proactive approach by addressing students’ potential blind spots, often before the students realize these blind spots exist. I wholeheartedly recommend Dan as a hardworking consultant who has a track record of successful seminar planning and execution, and an interest in the unique challenges facing college and post-college adults today.”

“Dan is an exceedingly bright, personable, and energetic young man who understands what it takes to succeed in today’s recessionary (read: hyper-competitive) professional job market. His knowledge of networking is particularly astute. I highly recommend to anyone embarking on his or her first job search (or their eighteenth) to take advantage of Dan’s enthusiasm and passion for coaching the individual at any stage of their professional growth.”

His suggestions and advice were always tailored to my needs and worked brilliantly in my job search. He has also had many suggestions to offer in regard to my long term career development that have already been very beneficial as I begin to advance through my current company. “I am a senior undergraduate student at Northwest University and have as of recent, been concerned about finding potential career paths once I finish my degree. Initially, I was unsure about what steps I should take in order to begin seeking out a successful career path that is tailored to my specific talents and passions. I decided to seek help at our local career center on campus, and met with Dan Hallak. Since we have met, he has coached me successfully to find the values that are important to me in a work environment, potential career opportunities that would suit my personality, venues to research these career opportunities, to seek out associations and individuals working in these professions, and to network and market myself in the contemporary job market. I highly recommend Dan Hallak and the services that he provides. He is extremely personable, provides great results, and motivates his clients to reach their goals within specific deadlines and time frames. The effort and passion that he carries into each meeting has inspired me to value and look after my own career path, especially in such a confusing and turbulent market.”

“Dan is a high-energy, personable, and punctual career coach who invests deeply into each and every student that comes through his door. He took my broad assortment of ideas and gave me great direction while approaching graduation. He has provided me with more than only information for interviews, but detailed phrases and words to use for interviews. Furthermore, he opened my eyes to the actual career I want to enter, making sure that I look more than 3-5 years down the road at the bigger picture of my career. Whether you are a college student or someone making a major career change, Dan is an excellent resource. More importantly, he is true to his word. When he makes promises, he will follow through. Thanks so much for all your hard work Dan!”
